Ports throughout Europe have been hit hard by the current Covid-19 pandemic. This can be seen clearly in the recently published volume statistics from Europe’s largest ports. They are also feeling the knock-on effect of cancelled calls – in many cases up to 30 per cent. In contrast, the Port of Gothenburg has increased its container volume, there have been no cancelled calls, and none are planned.
Thun Tankers orders a second NaabsaMAX product tanker and pens long-term agreement with Geos Group Ltd
Thun Tankers BV has placed an order for a second 4,250-deadweight product tanker. The ordered tanker will be delivered May 2022 and will, together with her previously ordered sister, enter into a long-term agreement with UK based Geos Group Ltd.
PIRIOU awarded contract by the French Defence Procurement Agency DGA for the purchase of 20 harbour and coastal tugs
The French Defence Procurement Agency DGA has awarded shipbuilder PIRIOU a contract to supply a series of twenty 30 tonnes tugs including 15 harbour tugs -RP30- and 5 harbour and coastal tugs -RPC30- involving a firm order for four units and several optional orders including the related maintenance services.
